More wealth redistribution. Why must the government play Robin Hood by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor? I write a big check to the IRS so my neighbor across the street can buy a new flat screen TV? :(

Certainly vote buying to some extent. But hard to begrudge people wanting to help the job market when we've found investing hundreds of billions in irresponsible banks and home-buyers to be ok. The prospect of a 10% unemployment rate is pretty terrifying.

Do you really think the unemployment rate would reach 10 percent? If it were to get that high, I'd look for WPA-type work programs.

The government needs to step in and save the US, as well as the rest of global economies from complete economic meltdown. What the government does not need to do is earmark hundreds of millions of dollars for personal gain

Pelosi mentioned last week that she wanted to offer another check. What the hell-its only money. What's another 175 billion to the national debt after the last few weeks?

it's always nice to say let the government save everything, but we all end up paying. Why can't we just be responsible for ourselves. The government can't solve all of our problems, nor can it solve the entire worlds.

The government is merely mirroring the demands of the people... instant gratification/satisfaction today in return for a bleak future. What's the difference between a five hundred billion dollar deficit and a six hundred billion dollar deficit?

Actually the government is not mirroring the demands of the people-over 75% we AGAINST the bailout package but it passed Congress anyway. We are seeing a while bunch of people trying to cover their asses-on both sides of the aisle.

I was only talking about the stimulus check and I wasn't excusing the actions of Congress either.
