I've experienced the same thing. I'm getting a ton of calls from people who listen to Cramer, or overheard some rumors passed on by co-workers. I also get frantic women who saw Suze Orman on Oprah and all they remember hearing her say is to take their money out of non-FDIC insured accounts, and they are demanding they liquidate their 401(k) since it isn't FDIC insured.

Most of these TV personalities need to really STFU since they are making things worse instead of providing useful advice.

I love how "professionals" in the market are mad at what Cramer said. All I see from the markets is that if you didn't listen to him you're the fucking fool yourself. The "professionals" want everyone to stay in the market to help pad their pathetic careers. Cramer is one of the only people in this market besides Peter Schiff that has been honest with most aspects of what is going on and what the common guy should do in reaction to it.

Quick note, Cramer did not tell everyone to liquidate 100% of their holdings but 20% for cash needed in 5 years. In addition he has been signing the song to sell any stocks that could be hurt by a recession and ignore resurgent bull runs and instead buy recession safe stocks like Johnson & Johnson, Hershey's, Natural Gas etc.

I don't think people are necessarily mad at what he said, but rather people don't pay attention to what was really said and blow it out of proportion. Cramer is exactly right, and any money you need in 5 years shouldn't be in stocks, so if you are tied up in equities, you should move some money to cash for the next few years. Most people would agree with that.

The problem is joe six-pack investor who doesn't know a stock from a bond just hears a sound bite on the news or from a co-worker that sounds like CRAMER SAID TO SELL ALL YOUR STOCKS, OMG!$#@%

The worst decision ever was allowing Cramer to get his own TV show. His gimmicks & Batman effects take away from real analysis. At least on the radio you didn't have to deal with as much of the hooplah
