Yahoo Cracks $12, Valuation Now Officially Ridiculous

The stock just slipped below $12, which means the enterprise value is $14 billion (enterprise value is the value of the business itself, after you net out cash and debt). That's about 2X trailing revenue

It is important to remember that the share prices these days reflect nothing. Everything is being whacked regardless of the fundamentals or financial outlook of a particular company. Some are dropping less than others, yet there is so much panic exhibited by the institutions that price plunge without reason. Yahoo is a victim like everyone else.

Does this change absolve the leadership of Yahoo: not in the least. They still failed the shareholders in my opinion.

Someone should tell Ballmer that it doesn't matter what the company thinks it is worth, it matters what the investors think it is worth.

Bad companies aren't worth buying, even at an attractive price; better to buy great companies, at a fair price (that's GOOG imho).
